Evolution of Mahto Group

Mahto BPO-

Roadmap til present

Mahto BPO, or Business Process Outsourcing, was a division of Mahto companies group, one of the leading technology and startup ecosystems in the world. Mahto BPO was incorporated in December 2010 with the objective of providing backend process outsourcing to companies. Going to specifics, Mahto BPO, worked as a backend and strategic support to e-commerce organizations like Amazon and 100bestbuy. This venture worked well, and subsequently in 2011 it was decided to build a B2B and B2C platform called myBCD.in (My Business Card Directory). This decision came as a continuation of the founder’s passion into entrepreneurship and the first success with Mahto BPO gave birth to myBCD.in. The directory built into a successful business which was merged into ME technologies, run in partnership. The firm captured a major section of business clientele in Chennai, growing to a directory of 11,000 businesses out of the total 15,000 in the area. The number was a milestone achievement for the venture, surpassing the record registrations of competitors around. A continued work effort and quality service standard attracted angel investment by L Ramesh Kumar (a chief engineer in a maritime company) in the latter part of 2011, marking another milestone for Mahto BPO. Mr. Kumar stood for the company through all its phases.

ME technologies continued to work as a business card directory with improved and efficient technological expertise, posed at par with its most renowned competitors of the time. ME technologies garnered a diversified clientele and operated successfully until its formal closure in 2013 when it led the way to a new company that was solely a proprietary company of Mahto group, Zoolley. Zoolley is an Internet search engine that is based on the idea of getting information from key crowdsourced websites and producing search results that are organic.

It was created by the founder during his graduation years, at SRM university. The young mind was determined to bring a state of the art search engine to India and he continues to pursue the same mission even today. The staggering statistics of google owning 68 per cent of the search engine market in the US alone. And Baidu and Sogou, the search engines, with their respective strong market share in China, pushed him to create a dedicated search engine for Indian users as well. Zoolley added in the race to the two topmost search engines In the Indian context, 123Khoj, which functions similar to Google; and Guruji, which is said to be the first crawler-based search engine developed in India. Joining the lot was Zoolley in 2012. A year down the line, zoolley was enquired by Samsung South Korea for its acquisition but the choice of the founder to develop an Indian competitor in the field, motivated him to humbly bypass the offer. However on its own, zoolley grew to accommodate eighty five thousand users, accounting to be 8.5% of total advertisers on Google. Recently, Zoolley acquired Ayah Network, which is a London-based advertising technology platform, and Ad network. This offers traffic based on contextual and behavioral analysis. Currently, the platform has over four lakh impressions a month, which scales to 451 million views in a month. These numbers and a positive response created eight successful years of zoolley technology till present.

Zoolley also works hand in hand with Mahto group’s own ad network, Zool ad network. It allows website owners and publishers to monetize their online content by displaying targeted ads on their websites, mobile apps, and other digital properties. Zool Ad Network offers various ad formats,

including text ads, display ads, video ads, and mobile ads. Zool ad network is made for conversion- focused ads. The auto optimization of CPA goals, allows advertisers to assess the efficiency of their advertising spend. By defining a specific CPA target, advertisers can focus their efforts on driving conversions at a cost that aligns with their business objectives and profitability. It helps advertisers allocate their budgets effectively, evaluate the performance of different advertising channels or campaigns, and make informed decisions to maximize their return on investment (ROI)

The network offers a self-serving advertising platform. A self-service ad platform empowers advertisers to manage their advertising campaigns independently, giving them greater control, flexibility, and convenience. It puts the control and responsibility of advertising campaigns into the hands of the advertisers themselves. Zool also offers Push notification advertising to its clients. This particular advertising offers several advantages, including high visibility, immediate delivery, and the ability to reach users even when they are not actively using an app or browsing a website.

Zool strikes a balance between delivering relevant and valuable content to users while respecting their preferences and avoiding excessive or intrusive messaging, as it can lead to user dissatisfaction or opt-outs. Alongside Over the years, Zool ad network has developed an integrated approach to fraud detection, combining multiple techniques: constant monitoring, behavioral modeling, risk assessment, machine learning to avoid frauds and vulnerable risks of almost all kinds.

Currently the search engine is being redeveloped with latest technological advancements and will be soon relaunched under Mahto Inc. label. However, the ad network is running successfully, offering a wide range of services to various sectors in India.
